A Chocolate Lover's Paradise

It appears we should have meandered a bit farther away from danger!

Getting Driving Instructions from the locals

Sometimes we need help finding homes because often there is no street signs and no numbers where we need to go. This reminds me of getting instructions from locals in the country towns back home. The following instructions were how to get to where a seminary class was being held in someone's home. Remember, this is in a city (suburbs) of 3.6 million people! :

Take the OTTO VOLK DRIVE towards Kwadebeka,
keep driving along this road. As you drive a land mark on the left is AG
Sweets. drive up the hill to the main robot. I think it is (Shepstone road)
At the robot keep going straight over the intersection, drive on as you
drive on the right is Kwadebeka notice the small houses on the left is New
Germany.
keep driving a head and across the main road is a bridge.
Just after the bridge about 200m is a TURNOFF TO THE LEFT.
TURN LEFT, RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU IS A TRAFFIC CIRCLE
go around it right, up the short hill
The first ROAD TO THE LEFT do not know the name to it.
There is a cement brick house been built, add onto.
No signs or number.
THAT IS THE HOUSE. CALL HER IF YOU CAN AND GET HER TO STAND OUTSIDE TO MEET
YOU.
Up the hill is Harmony Heights is were the Mkhzie FAMILY live.

WE ACTUALLY FOUND THIS HOUSE! HOWEVER, HE COULD HAVE MERELY SAID, "DRIVE NORTH ON OTTO VOLK DRIVE FOR ABOUT 4 KILOMETERS UNTIL YOU PASS UNDER A BRIDGE. TURN LEFT AT THE NEXT STREET TO A TRAFFIC CIRCLE, THEN RIGHT TO THE FIRST STREET AND THEN LEFT.
CALL THE HER AT THIS POINT. THE HOUSE IS ON THE CORNER. HAVE HER WAVE TO YOU."

Ashtyn played 'Young Erin' in the play "Dream Child" that Aunt Jana wrote! She also played a part of the dream sequences.

Zach played a "grotesque" from the characters dreams and also a bully named Chandler in a few other scenes.

I think the acting bug has bitten both of the kids! They had an absolute blast being a part of something so neat!

Zeus - he has played such a fun role in our family and has all of us wrapped around his little paw!

Zach and Randy have golfed quite a bit this year. Zach is getting really good and having such a fun time perfecting his swing!

Ashtyn played the tin man in a production of "The wonderful Witches of Oz". She was SO cute and did a great job!

Hi Everyone,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of my walking shoes. They have been two of my very closest friends. They have been with me through rain, snow, and sun, on many visits to the gym and on many fishing trips. Age finally caught up to them on this last trip together. Unfortunately, they suffered mightily this past couple weeks as their soles literally separated a bit more each day from their bodies. They deserved a timely and fitting funeral, but alas, the best I could do was to lay them to rest in a communal receptacle at the end of the hall. We wondered how I could possibly replace them, but that was something I just had to do. Their replacement is not nearly as good, not nearly as supportive or as familiar. It’s kind of like walking in flip-flops with a laced top. As we get used to each other, I can only hope our friendship will last until the time to part company next year about this time. This is just another testimony that you need to pick your friends carefully because their influence can be with you for a very long time. Hope my feet survive. I’ll give these shoes another week or so, and if I start having problems…. They’ll join my other dearly departed friends. Dad

Rodeed in Africa

Here we are more than an year later on this blog We tried to remember the blog title and the address for awhile, started another, and then finally found this one again by logging into the new one (which was really just experimental anyway). Hey, we hope everyone will post pictures of your families and tell everyone what you are doing for fun and what you are doing in the church and at school, etc. Love, Dad
